Informal Curriculum Overview
Intent – What are we trying to achieve?
At Marshlands we offer an informal curriculum that allows the pupils to experience the world around them. We encourage the pupils to respond to these experiences by building connections, developing their understanding and communication skills through being engaged in every learning opportunity. We ensure that learning is contextualised across relevant and exciting themes. The pupils are immersed in their learning and have access to a curriculum which responds to their needs, enables communication and allows opportunity for problem solving.
Implementation – How do we organise what we are doing?
Whole school approach with overarching themes that have significance for individuals and provide relevant learning contexts, 2 year rolling plan for all groups.
Impact – How will we measure we are achieving our aims?
We look at each learner as an individual and capture the whole picture of their progress drawing on wider evidence of learning.
