Butterflies

Butterflies is a key stage 2 class of year 5 and 6 children. Our staff team are made up of Mr Jackson, our class teacher, and support staff: Mrs Bamford, Mrs Fife, Mrs Smith and Ms Wardrop. 

In Butterflies we enjoy accessing a semi-formal curriculum. Here the children enjoy learning through a multisensory approach and enjoy taking part in lots of sensory activities as well as the more formal aspects of developing reading, writing and maths skills. All activities are differentiated to suit each child’s level of development and needs. Alongside our day-to-day curriculum, the children have access to a sensory cubbie, intensive interaction intervention, daily speech and language support, social interaction development and time in our school sensory room. We love outdoor learning in Butterflies and like to get outside whenever we can! Pupils enjoy attention autism sessions. 

This term we have been learning about Dinosaurs.
