RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) sessions aim to enrich the lives of disabled people through horses. Anyone with a disability can benefit from the unique bond between humans and horses and regular riding improves core strength, balance and coordination. RDA is the only major UK charity whose focus is squarely on the therapeutic and health benefits of bringing people and horses together – and to make a difference. Pupils are identified by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
School staff accompany our pupils to their sessions and RDA volunteers support the children during their session ride where children play games and have lots of fun. The sessions also support communication, speaking and listening and help to build confidence too.
