Welcome to our Key Stage 1 designed to support each child in a way that suits them best.

We follow a flexible curriculum that is carefully adapted to meet individual needs. Our focus is on helping children develop communication, independence, social skills, and confidence, so they can make progress at their own pace.

We use a Total Communication approach, which means we support children to express themselves in the way that works best for them. This might include spoken language, Makaton, symbols, visuals, objects of reference, communication boards, or AAC devices.

Learning across our Key Stage 1 classes is engaging, practical, and hands-on. We know children learn best through meaningful experiences, repetition, and familiar routines. We also make the most of both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities to support a wide range of learning styles.

Throughout the week, children take part in a variety of supportive activities such as Attention Autism, TacPac, sensory circuits, Intensive Interaction, music and movement, sensory play, and activities that help with emotional regulation. These experiences help build communication, attention, engagement, and readiness to learn.

We collaborate with external professionals to ensure each child receives the support they need.

Across our Key Stage 1 classes, we celebrate every achievement, big or small. Our goal is to create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported as they grow in independence.
