Semi-Formal Curriculum Overview
Intent – What are we trying to achieve?
At Marshlands we offer a semi-formal curriculum which is led by what the pupils need to learn next and encourages them to make connections, solve problems and develop understanding. Learning is fun in every classroom and beyond and seeks to develop a desire to learn in all pupils. The curriculum ensures ongoing opportunities for cross-curricular links and learning is put into a context to help develop understanding. We are committed to ensuring our pupils are immersed in their learning, work within a framework that responds to needs, enables communication and supports all pupils to reach their full potential.
Implementation – How do we organise what we are doing?
Whole school approach with overarching themes that have significance for individuals and provide relevant learning contexts, 2 year rolling plan for all groups.
Impact – How will we measure we are achieving our aims?
We look at each learner as an individual and capture the whole picture of their progress drawing on wider evidence of learning.
