Squirrels

Squirrels class is taught by Miss Thompson-Smith and has three support staff: Miss Elsmore, Ms Atkins and Miss Campbell. Squirrels class is a Key Stage 2 class who enjoy learning through a mixture of both semi-formal and formal curriculum.

In Squirrels, we encourage independent skills through life skill lessons and look to develop the children’s social connections. We cover a range of different topics each term and enjoy learning in different ways. We take part in lots of different activities including movement, turn taking games, role play, singing and dancing. Our more formal areas of learning include English, Maths, phonics and science. This term we are learning about Transport and our local area. Squirrels class really love learning about transport from the past and exploring transport in our class stories. We also focus on speech, communication, occupational therapy, intensive interaction and sensory time.
