Bumblebees

Welcome to Bumblebees where learning is fun.

We are lower key stage 2 class (year 3) who follow our semi-formal curriculum. The class is taught by Mr Joy with support from Miss Bailey, Miss Elle and Mrs Bamford.

In Bumblebees we like to make learning fun by offering a range of exciting and stimulating activities linked to our curriculum promoting a desire to learn with lots of laughter along the way. Our topic this term is Transport which is covered throughout the majority of subjects. In English we are exploring a whole range of stories based around different vehicles. We enjoy our arts and crafts in creative curriculum based all around the history of different vehicles with an arty theme. In art we are learning all about Josiah Wedgwood and we even get the opportunity to make our own plates, in science we are exploring plants and learning about Hinduism in RE.

All our learning follows a multisensory approach consisting of sensory play, attention autism sessions, singing, role play and dancing.

Alongside the semi-formal curriculum our Bumblebees work really hard on developing independence skills. We follow tailored speech plans for each child alongside a total communication plant to help to develop their social skills and take part in weekly personal development lessons to help create the building blocks for independence.
