Maths Day

On Wednesday 5th February, we celebrated our termly maths day. The aim of maths day at Marshlands is to promote a love of learning towards the subject and an understanding that maths is all around us. We use the day to promote problem solving skills, inspire and motivate pupils, showcase real world application, and identify any gaps in learning.

During the day children went on shape hunts, learnt how to tell the time, collected data, and played maths games together whilst enjoying physical activity. Some classes hosted a snack shop where the children practiced creating a shopping list, adding money, and using the money to buy their items.

UKS2 linked their maths learning to their topic “Ancient Egyptians”, they created pyramids and practiced Tutankhamun multiplication.

Maths is so much fun!
